Research: Publications

William E. Staas, Jr., MD, has been the president and medical director of Magee Rehabilitation Hospital since 1977. He is also a Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. He has been named to Philadelphia Magazine's list of "Top Docs" on several occasions. He recently completed a six-year term as a director of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR).

Dr. Staas is a member of several professional and academic societies, including the American Medical Association and the American Spinal Injury Association. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, a Fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Fellow of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia. He is a Past President of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine. He has published over 50 scholarly articles on various subjects related to physical medicine and rehabilitation and has given numerous presentations at professional organizations.
